For several months, Nikopol, the fourth most populous city in the Dnepropetrovsk region, has been hit by heavy shelling almost every night.
Hospitals, kindergartens, cathedrals, museums, shops are currently under attack. Over the past month and a half, more than one and a half thousand buildings have been damaged in Nikopol. People are suffering: unfortunately, there are dead and wounded. A difficult economic and humanitarian situation has developed in the city - civilians are in dire need of the most necessary, but Nikopol does not give up - he works, lives.
The International Charitable Foundation in honor of Intercession of the Most Holy Mother of God regularly helps our fellow citizens who, as a result of full-scale hostilities, find themselves in difficult life circumstances, and provides the Ukrainian Orthodox Church with comprehensive support in the matter of social service.
At the request of Archpriest Igor Melnikov, rector of the Exaltation of the Cross Church in Nikopol, the Foundation staff sent 300 long-term food packages to needy residents of the city and nearby villages.
As a reminder, since February 24, The International Charitable Foundation in honor of Intercession of the Most Holy Mother of God has already sent more than 65,000 food packages to residents of Ukrainian settlements affected by hostilities and located in the frontline zone, as well as to refugees and internally displaced persons.
We continue to deliver essential groceries.
Residents of the most affected regions receive our assistance as part of the Fund's cooperation with the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
To date, we are already cooperating with the Nikolaev, Kharkiv, Zaporozhye, Sumy, Krivoy Rog, Odessa and Alexandria dioceses of the UOC. The Fund plans to further increase the amount of assistance and expand its geography.
