15 December 2022

A large consignment of sanitizers and antibacterial wet wipes, which are much needed in hospitals, was delivered by the medical corps of our Foundation to the State Institution "Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine", which is the leading cardiac surgery clinic in Ukraine. The total weight of the humanitarian aid amounted to 6.5 tons.

"We have received a huge amount of humanitarian aid, including bactericidal wipes and hand sanitizers. I would like to say a big thank you to the Intercession of the Holy Virgin Foundation, which has been helping us with medicines and supplies for 10 months. This is very important for us," said Boris Todurov, Director General of the Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Honored Doctor of Ukraine and outstanding cardiac surgeon.

"The Heart Institute employs true professionals who successfully perform complex operations, including heart transplants and many other unique cardiac surgical interventions. In this difficult time for our country, the Institute is saving the lives of our soldiers, the defenders of Ukraine, every day and every night.

"This is a greatly needed assistance from our partner, the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary Charitable Foundation, to our doctors. These sanitizers and antibacterial wipes are primarily needed in the intensive care unit, in the operating room, because after each even small surgery, everything must be thoroughly sterilized to prevent any infection. At the moment, we have a lot of wounded soldiers, so I would like to emphasize once again: this is a very necessary help now. Thank you very much!" said Iryna V. Kilaryova, President of the Heart on the Palm Charitable Foundation, the official partner of the Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

The ICF "ICF in honor of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary" has been helping the Heart Institute for over 5 years. In particular, in the implementation of the charity project "Help the Heart Beat", which primarily applies to orphans, children from large, single-parent and socially vulnerable families with congenital heart disease.

The Foundation plans to continue to provide assistance to medical institutions in Ukraine.
